CALATUBO WINERY

The winery finds its origins in Calatubo, a domain originally held by the Princes of Valdina, which was acquired by Alessandro Chiarelli in the early 2000s. He discerningly elected it as the premises for the establishment.

LA STORIA

At the end of the 19th century, the family company became renowned for producing prestigious wines destined for the famous Marsala type, supplying renowned producers such as Ingham, Florio, and WoodHouse in Balestrate.

LA STORIA

However, the 1970s marked a decisive turning point when Baron Stefano Chiarelli Rossotti decided to put an end to the family's winemaking tradition. It was only the enthusiasm of his son Alessandro, following an educational experience in the United States, that reignited the flame of family ambition.

LA STORIA

The pulsating heart of this oenological renaissance was the restoration project of the historic Calatubo cellar, nestled within a sumptuous Sicilian "baglio", which Alessandro and Stefano transformed into a technologically advanced facility.

LA STORIA

In 2023, the young Stefano, at the age of 21, celebrated his first grape harvest at the splendidly restored cellar, bestowing upon it the role of a jewel in the crown of the family's production activity.
